Kate bought this picturesque cottage, comprising of two buildings and a 1950s extension, in the Cotswolds for £3.5 million in 2002 and considers it her primary residence. Winslet outbid Elizabeth Hurley to buy the house, in the village of Church Westcote, Gloucestershire, which has eight-bedrooms and 20-acres of land.
Although she purchased the property in 2002, Kate didn’t move in until 2005 due to extensive work carried out on the once-neglected house. The couple added gates, walls and fences around the house in a bid to increase security. This has angered local villagers who say the additions ruin the spirit of the community.
